There is more to Chiropractic than the traditional diversified "cracking /popping" that many associate with the profession. There are many low force and soft tissue related techniques which facilitate the adjustment of "vertebral subluxation", the Chiropractic lesion.
Dr. Brettmann is knowledgable in D.N.F.T. (directional non-force technique), Logan Basic, Upper cervical toggle, Sacro-occipital technique, Biokinetics, Activator methods, Receptor Tonus (Nimmo), Alvey Touch Care (Soft-Touch), spinal touch technique, and some Pierce Cervical technique.
He utilizes what ever is necessary to facilitate improved nervous system performance and patient function.
Even though many patients initially come in for pain relief, that is not the purpose of Chiropractic, even though it is a pleasant side effect, the purpose of Chiropractic lies in keeping your body functioning at the best it can, increasing human potential for wellness and optimal performance, through the correction of the vertebral subluxation. Everyone benefits from Chiropractic care, regardless of the condition they have, because they have reduced the amount of nerve irritation which allows their body to function more normally, which helps their bodies heal other maladies and afflictions which may be affecting them.
The power that made the body, heals the body, from above -down-inside-out. A Chiropractic adjustment, once a week, keeps you performing at your Peak! True health comes from within us, when our body is not afflicted with spinal nerve stress caused by vertebral subluxation.

Don't wait for symptoms to occur, before beginning Chiropractic care. Many times if you wait for symptoms to appear, the effects of subluxation have been there too long, and may take longer to responnd to Chiropractic adjustment. Symptoms appear when there is 60% depletion of normal nerve transmission, which means you are only operating on 40% of normal nerve function. Symptoms may disappear when there is as little as 5% improvement, which
is misleading, thinking the problem is gone, when in reality care has just begun. Occasionally, a patient may feel worse shortly after the adjustment, this is usually due to a healing response due to local inflammation, which usually is relieved by application of ice as after strenuous exercise, or it may be due to the body experiencing a neurologic re-tracing phenomenon, which most often is corrected by consequent adjustments. This all indicates the body's necessity to being in a homeostatic balance so that the nervous system can function without interference.
